PURPOSE: A system and a method for charging contents are provided to reduce cost burden and increase the range of the charged contents by taking contents fee from a user and paying for the contents to a contents provider. CONSTITUTION: A personal computer of business calculates use time of charged contents in case of a charged contents program, and use time of free contents in case of fee contents program(s10-s40). A personal computer of a manager calculates the contents fee and sends the result of the calculation to a central charging server(s50,s60). The central charging server processes the result of the calculation received from the personal computer of the manager and then stores it in a database(s70,s80). The central charging server calculates monthly use fee on a basis of charged contents use time by referring to the result stored in the database, and then sends a bill to each personal computer(s90,s100).
