PURPOSE: A system and a method for an Internet auction by applying a discounted bidding price to contract price are provided to decrease a load of a bidder and raise a bid participating rate by deciding the highest price bidder as a successful bidder and deciding a discounted highest bidding price as a completed contract price instead of the highest bidding price. CONSTITUTION: If an auctioneer completes a registration by clicking a registration confirmation button(401), an auction is started. A bidder performs a bid registration by clicking a bid confirmation button(402). When an auction commodity is registered, an auction advertisement charge is calculated(403). If an auction termination time is reached, the highest price bidder is decided as a successful bidder(405). If an auction price is calculated and a contract price is decided by calculating a decided contract price by subtracting the auction advertisement charge from the auction price, the result is notified in a discount auction site and a successful bid is notified to a corresponding auctioneer and a successful bidder(406). If the successful bidder pays the decided contract price, a discount auction system operating company notifies the result to a discount auction site and the auctioneer(407). The auctioneer checks the payment and delivers the auction commodity to the successful bidder, and the successful bidder receives and checks the commodity(408). If the successful bidder does not check a delivery intention, the discount auction system operating company pays the auction price to the auctioneer(409).
