PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress speed adjustment for reduction in detection of slip and skidding by setting a minimized threshold for the detection of the slip and the skidding within a range, where the slip and the skidding can be detected surely without being affected by the gradient, in whichover sloped sections a train may travel, and bring about effective utilization of adhesion and an improvement in adjustable speed performance of the train, by suppressing the occurrence of the lingering slip and skidding. SOLUTION: A control device for electric rolling stock is equipped with a tangential- force coefficient estimator, which estimates a tangential-force coefficient of a driving wheel from a main motor torque command value, the revolving speed of a main motor, the mass of the electric rolling stock, a reduction gear ratio, a driving wheel diameter, etc., a slip-and-skid detector which detects the slip and the skid, a torque command computing unit which commands a torque corresponding to a value of the tangential- force coefficient estimator, and a threshold computing unit for the detection of the slip and the skid, which sets as the threshold of the slip-and-skid detector, a value obtained by adding a prescribed constant to a computed mean value of the driving wheel shaft acceleration during time for commanding the torque, corresponding to the estimated tangential-force coefficient. |
