摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing phosphorescent substance of rare earth-activated alkaline earth metal fluoride iodide that has high sensitivity, good sharpness and graininess. SOLUTION: The production process for phosphorescent substance of general formula (1) Ba1-x M<2> x FI:aM<1> ,bLn,cO (where M<2> : one or more of Be, Mg, Sr, Ca; M<1> : one or more of Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs; Ln: Ce, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Tm, Yb; 0<=x<=0.5, 0<=a<=0.05, 0<b<=0.2, 0<=c<=0.1 comprises the following steps: the step where an aqueous solution of BaI2 of >=2.5 mol/L concentration is prepared; the step where an aqueous solution of inorganic fluoride solution of >=5 mol/L concentration is added to the aqueous solution in 120-600 minutes, the aqueous solution is kept at 90-99 deg.C, then the mixture is aged for 180-600 minutes thereby forming the crystalline precipitation of the fluorescent precursor; the step where the precipitate of the precursor crystals is separated from the aqueous solution; and the step where the separated precipitate of the crystalline precursor is fired.
