<p>A patient carrying device (10) comprises a blanket section (11) adapted to wrap around a patient (30), and a lifting section (12) attached to the blanket section (11) and having handles (18) to enable manual lifting of the patient (30). The blanket section (11) and the lifting section (12) are each generally rectangular when laid flat, with the length of the lifting section (12) being substantially equal to the length of the blanket section (11). The lifting section (12) is attached to the blanket section (11) generally centrally thereof by sewing, adhesive bonding or heat bonding, such that the blanket section (11) overlies the lifting section (12). The lifting section (12) may be formed from non-woven polypropylene fabric, and the blanket section (11) from spunlace (non-woven material manufactured using hydroentanglement) material, preferably comprising polyester and rayon filament fibre. Both sections may be laminated with a layer of polyethylene.</p> |
