<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission apparatus configured to control an optical output level that controls the optical output level so as to avoid an optical receiver from being saturated. <P>SOLUTION: In the optical transmission apparatus wherein an optical branch unit 13 partly branches an optical output signal from a laser diode 11 whose drive current is controlled by a drive section 12, an output monitor light detection section 14 detects the partly branched output signal, and a feedback control section 16 controls the drive section 12 to stabilize the optical output level of the laser diode 11, the optical branch unit 13 transmits the optical output signal from the laser diode 11 to a transmission line 2, branches part of the optical output signal and gives the branched output signal to the output monitor light detection section 14, branches a reflected light via the transmission line 2 and gives the branched light to a reflection light detection section 15, and the feedback control section 16 is configured to set and control the optical output level of the laser diode 11 so that a detection signal level of the reflection light detection section 15 reaches a reference level or below when an optical connector 4 of the transmission line 2 is removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
