Method and device for identifying characteristics of an empty goods container

The device (1) has a flat support element (4) to which an empty product container (2) is connected with a generated surface on a contact surface of the support element. A carrier is provided for carrying the empty product container and an optical sensor (5) is provided for optically scanning the empty product container. The carrier is formed through the support element and the support element is rotatably mounted about a horizontal drive axis (3). The empty product container is brought from an input position to another position on the support element. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting characteristic feature of an empty product container.
