Composite interlocking stopper and method of manufacture

A composite synthetic cork (30) is provided, wherein the synthetic cork (30) is operatively coupled with a cap (14) via an interlocking contour (20). In an exemplary embodiment, the interlocking contour(s) (20) is molded on an otherwise flat bottom portion of the cap (14). In other exemplary embodiments, the cap (14) and the cork (30) are assembled via co-injection molding.
