PURPOSE: A mapping system is provided to easily secure the horizontality of a total station which is installed for location survey and to create more precise and reliable map image. CONSTITUTION: A mapping system comprises a total station(1) and a data processing server(2). The total station comprises a sensor(13), a transmitter(15) which transmits measurement data collected from a measuring device(12), and a controller(14) which controls the operation of the transmitter and operates a laser gun of the sensor. The data processing server comprises a receiver(21), a processor(22), a read processing unit(25) which compose a contour image according to the measurement data, a height processing unit(26), and a DB(23) which stores the measurement data and the contour image.
