PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air compressor improving a life of a seal ring and extending a maintenance cycle by preventing the wear powder of the seal ring from being flied up by an air flow. SOLUTION: In the air compressor including a crankcase 37 provided with a crank mechanism driven and rotated by a motor and with a mounting part 50 at an upper part thereof, a cylinder mounted on the mounting part 50 of the crankcase 37, a piston inserted in the cylinder to form a compression chamber and driven by the crank mechanism to reciprocate in the cylinder, an annular seal ring provided on the piston and sealing a gap between the piston and the cylinder, a collection recess part 91 opening upward and collecting the wear powder of the seal ring is provided on the mounting part 50.
