PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a status notice function suitable for an image reading apparatus provided with a slip paper purpose image reading sensor and a card image reading sensor for an ID card or the like. SOLUTION: An image reading sensor attached printer 10 is provided with: the slip image reading sensor 26 for reading an image on slip paper S carried on a slip paper carrying path 21 to acquire image data of the slip paper S; and the card image reading sensor 44 for reading an image on the card C carried on a card carrying path 41 to acquire image data of the card C. Then the image reading sensor attached printer 10 is provided with an automatic status signal generating function for generating a status signal and transmitting the signal to a host computer depending on a change in a state with respect to the slip image reading sensor 26 and a state with respect to the card image reading sensor 44.
