The protection element has a gabion (2) filled with stones and provided with laminar grid elements (6) and a sound damping- and sound absorbing element. An indentation (5) projects at front surfaces (4) of the protection element. The indentation is engaged into a profile of dual-T- or I-shaped uprights and/or vertical carriers (11) supporting a noise protection wall (10). The front surfaces are formed from continuous, rigid profiles e.g. steel profiles and/or steel sheets. The indentation extends over an overall height of the protection element and/or the front surfaces. |
