PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording tape cartridge capable of always preventing the tilting of a braking member even when an operation projection (braking member) is carelessly raised during nonuse. SOLUTION: This recording tape cartridge is provided with a reel 50 having a recording tape T wound on the outer peripheral surface of a bottomed cylindrical hub 56 having a through-hole 58A bored in its axial center, and rotatably housed in a case 12, and a braking member 80 non-rotatably disposed in the case 12 and capable of taking a locking position for blocking the rotation of the reel 50 by being engaged with an engaging part 62 formed in the upper surface of the bottom 58 of the hub 56, and a rotation permitting position for releasing the engagement with the engaging part 62 by pushing up an operation part 88 inserted into the through-hole 58A to be moved apart from the upper surface of the bottom 58 of the hub 56. In the peripheral edge of the the through-hole 58A, a guide wall 70 is formed to be extended toward the braking member 80 and to always face the side face 88A of the operation part 88.
