PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform padding with dummy data when recording data is below a reference amount of data in the case of a need for recording the data of more than the reference amount of data and to permit rapid suspension of recording when a user desires to suspend the recording. SOLUTION: Whether the amount of data of the image data formed on a hard disk is above the reference amount of data or not is decided in a step S 2. When the amount of data is below the reference amount of data, zero data is added to the image data in a step S 3. The image data is then recorded to the disk in a step S 4.
