PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image storage device for storing an optional image including various table type documents by using its management information. SOLUTION: In the image storage device, a storage means 26 is constituted so as to store image information as management information of an image to be stored. A retrieval means 28 retrieves the image information. For instance, an electronic filing device for storing many images stores an image code extracted from each image in the storage means 26 as its management information. The retrieving means 28 retrieves the management information by template matching for instance while collating the given image code with image codes stored in the storage means 26.
