<p>A method for gathering data indicative of one or more television viewing habits of a plurality of television viewers is disclosed. One or more viewers are provided with remote control units capable of operating channel selection devices of the viewers. The remote control units are configured to force tune the channel selection devices as the viewers use the remote control devices to select channels for viewing. The remote control units store in memory program selection history data for a predetermined period of time, and download the program selection history data to a program history database at predetermined intervals.</p> |
