<p>The laser apparatus (12) for ophthalmic surgery, e.g. for cutting the cornea or ablation at the cornea surface, has a laser source (14) giving a pulsed laser beam and a coupling (18) with a rod applanation lens (22') to direct the beam to the surgery site. A drive (25,26) moves the lens over the eye surface in a linear movement at right angles while rotating around its axis. The lens has a convex rounded surface (24) to lie on the eye (10) surface and is held at it by a vacuum chamber (20).</p> |
