A method for controlling numbers and harmfulness of populations of noctuids includes using a parasite of noctuid eggs, namely Trichogramma. Three stages of settling of Trichogramma ( Trichogramma evanescens Westw. Species) are carried out in the period of the beginning of egg laying of the noctuid females into soil. In doing so the Trichogramma is settled by means of sticking eggs of grain moth, which are infected with Trichogramma, onto strips of dense paper which are placed into wooden tubes with openings covered with a net of synthetic material. A half of the tubes with Trichogramma is arranged on the ground surface, the other half is merged into soil. After settling Trichogramma two soil cultivations are carried out. |
