The invention relates to area of mechanical tests of materials and can be used for determination of coefficient of transverse deformation (Poisson’s ratio μ) for bulk materials and for specific phases, structural components and coatings as well. Method for determination of Poisson’s ratio with previous determination of Young modulus E. After that at continuous pressing to tested material hard indented is immersed, as right pyramid, with plotting diagram “loading-displacement of indenter”, one determines characteristic of plasticity δ. After that one determines hardness by Maier as ratio of load to area of projection of imprint of indenter on contact surface, with calculation of Poisson’s ratio μ by formula (2), given in description. Technical result: the method makes it possible to determine Poisson’s ratio μ for bulk materials and specific phases, structural components and coatings as well. |
