PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection circuit for battery pack, for sensing whether a sensing wire that senses the voltages of battery cells is broken, as well as, interrupting the flow of high electric currents and protecting the overcharge of the battery cells. SOLUTION: The protection circuit 100 includes a group of battery cells where least one or more battery cells 111, 112, 113 are connected in series, a cell voltage sensing portion 120 that is connected to the negative and positive poles of each of the battery cells by a sensing wire, and senses voltages of each battery cell, a switching portion 130 connected in series with high electric currents line between the negative-side terminal of positive or the negative poles of the group of battery cells and external terminal, and a controller 140 for receiving a signal from the voltage sensing portion, when the battery cell is in a overcharge state, or the sensing wire is broken, and delivers a predetermined control signal that causes the switching portion to turn off.
