PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of address input searching, and to set a desired point exactly. SOLUTION: This navigation system for a vehicle has telephone number input mode and address input mode of selecting data from a list having hierarchical address data and inputting it, sets a point by input by each input mode, and performs guide. Address data corresponding to the area code of the telephone number inputted by the telephone number input mode is retrieved, and the retrieved address data is switched to the address input mode from the hierarchy.
