PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing a quality reduction in images after compression when binary images processed through a screen are subjected to image compression. SOLUTION: The binary images subjected to a halftone screen is compressed (S402), the compressed binary images are expanded (S404), the expanded binary images are binarized (S414), and printing operation is carried out resting on the binarized images.
