PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for color processing whereby conversion data capable of properly controlling a color material quantity are generated. SOLUTION: The method for color processing acquires a profile for storing a cross-reference between device color data and a colorimetry value and control information for controlling the color material quantity and generates inverse direction conversion data for converting device independent data into device dependent data on the basis of the cross-reference between the device color data and the colorimetry value and the control information for controlling the color material quantity.
