PURPOSE: A shield-shaped kite and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to apply lacquer on the surface of a ramie fabric which is a background paper, thereby realizing semi permanent lifetime. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing a shield-shaped kite comprises the following steps. A traditional Korean paper is attached to the rear side of a ramie fabric. The girth of a background paper to which the traditional Korean paper is attached is cut and a hole is formed on the center(S20). A pattern is formed on the surface of the cut background paper. The surface of the cut background paper is colored(S30). Spokes are attached to the background paper. Lacquer is applied to the surface of the background paper.
