A practice tool for practicing tonguing technique for playing staccato notes. The tool includes an upper part and a bottom part disposed opposite the upper part. The upper part has a first end portion connected to and separated from the bottom part, and a second end portion opposite the first end portion. The second end portion is bent to form a pocket. The second end portion is movable between a first position where the second end portion is spaced from the bottom part, and a second position where the second end portion contacts the bottom part. The second end portion being movable by blowing air into the pocket. A method for practicing the tonguing technique using the practice tool is also disclosed.
