METHOD FOR SELECTING MELON BREEDING MATERIAL FOR POWDERY MILDEW RESISTANCE

A method for selecting melon breeding material for powdery mildew resistance includes selecting of hybrid combinations for resistance. Hybridization of both parental forms or of one maternal form resistant to powdery mildew is carried out with the further selection and assessment thereof in a breeding nursery, revealing the activity of the oxidation-reduction enzymes catalase and peroxidase in leaves of melon leaves.
