SOFTWARE UPGRADE SYSTEM AND METHOD

PURPOSE: A software upgrade system and a method thereof are provided to minimize a network load by for determining the provision and provision period of a multicast service for each software version when updating the software of a user terminal. CONSTITUTION: A terminal information collection unit(110) periodically receives from an agent installed at a user terminal the information on the software installed in the user terminal. Based on the collected information, an upgrade policy determiner(120) determines the provision and provision period of a download service according to the kinds and the version of a software for which an upgrade service is provided. A transmission mode determiner(130) determines the provision of the download service of multicast type or unicast type.
