<p>The base (100) has a support zone fixed to posts (181) of a ladder. Feet (180) of the ladder exceed the support zone by 10mm. A stabilizing base portion i.e. rectangular sectioned tube, is constituted of a folded sheet. Two sides of the sheet form the support zone and a reinforcement rib, respectively. Two openings are formed in the support zone by folding two tabs. The feet traverse the base portion through the openings. The base portion is fixed to the posts by screws (170) and nuts.</p>
