PURPOSE: Spherical molybdenum dioxide is provided to ensure high discharge capacity, excellent cycleability, and low explosion danger, and to improve a rechargeable property, output characteristic and lifetime property. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing molybdenum dioxide for a secondary battery comprises the steps of: supplying a mixed solution in which carbon source is added to an organic acid salt solution including molybdenum, to a sonicator(30); producing micro droplets from the mixed solution through the sonicator; transporting the micro droplets to a furnace(40) using carrier gas in an inert or reducing atmosphere; and heat treating the micro droplets.
