The present invention relates to a misting device that includes a mist generation means (1) and a water misting means (2), characterised in that it comprises disinfection means including a photocatalysis reactor in water (3). The present invention further relates to a disinfection method that includes a photocatalysis disinfection step. The invention can be used in any water spraying/misting system for lowering air temperature and reducing olfactory discomfort.
