METHOD FOR IMPLEMENTING ON DEMAND CONFIGURATION CHANGES

PURPOSE: A method for embodying a custom configuration change is provided to monitor a storage capacity available for logic volume and compare actual logical volume use with a logic volume use threshold, thereby reconstructing the logical volume to include physical storage space. CONSTITUTION: The availability of configured physical storage space if usage of logical storage volume is near to the capacity(340). If the configured physical space is available for usage, the logical storage volume uses the whole or some part of the configured physical space and is reconfigured(350). If the configured physical storage space is not available for usage, the availability of unstructured physical space is determined(360). If the unstructured physical storage space is available for usage, the available physical storage space is configured(370).
