PURPOSE: A double-sided cutting insert is provided to improve the utilization efficiency because all the linear edges and curved edges formed in the curved surfaces and flanks are used for a cutting process. CONSTITUTION: A double-sided cutting insert(10) comprises a joint hole(50), first and second curved surfaces(13,14), a first extension surface(15), a second extension surface, first and second side surfaces(21,22), and first and second flanks(31,32). The joint hole is formed to be vertical to the top surface(11) and the bottom surface(12). The first and second curved surfaces are formed on the longitudinal sides of the top and bottom surfaces. The first and second extension surfaces are extended from the first and second curved surfaces. The first side surface is formed to be flat and contact the top surface, the first curved surface, and the first extension surface. The second side surface is formed to be flat and contact the bottom surface, the second curved surface, and the second extension surface. The first and the second side surface are formed at an acute angle to the top and the bottom surface, respectively. The first flank is formed between the first side surface and the second extension surface and the second flank is formed between the second side surface and the first extension surface, in order to prevent interference between the first and second side surfaces.
