PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the convenience in a non-directional radio communication made with protecting the security. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus sends communication establishment information and authentication data for authenticating itself by the IRDA communication from a digital camera 10A to a digital camera 10B. The digital camera 10B receives the communication establishment information and the authentication data, executes the authentication process of the digital camera 10A, sets its radio communication unit based on setting information contained in the received communication establishment information, and sends an answer message by the IRDA communication for showing that the communication source has been authenticated and the non-directional radio communication has been established. Mutual decrypting keys are transferred by the IRDA communication between the digital cameras 10A, 10B, and data communications are made by the non-directional radio communication between the digital cameras 10A, 10B.
