PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To firmly fix a sleeve type external electrode onto an end part of a glass tube in an external electrode type fluorescent lamp.SOLUTION: This external electrode type fluorescent lamp is covered and fixed with the external electrode comprising a metal sleeve 2 in each outside of both end parts of the glass tube 1. A fastening part 3 recessed along a circumferential direction of the glass tube 1 is formed in each outside of both end parts of the glass tube 1. The metal sleeve 2 is formed with a diameter contracted part 4 with an inside diameter contracted to be fit in to a recess of the fastening part 3. |
