PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the display quality by optimizing moving image blurring and flicker.SOLUTION: A light source emission control part 13 controls a lighting pattern of an LED backlight 10 synchronously with writing of a video signal to a liquid crystal panel 15. The LED backlight 10 can control the lighting of an LED for each horizontal unit, and lights and drives the LED based on a control signal of the lighting pattern output from the light source emission control part 13. The light source emission control part 13 can control the period of lighting and extinction of the LED and the ratio (duty ratio) between lighting time and extinction time per period for each horizontal unit. The light source emission control part 13 changes the control of the light emission of a light emitting region in response to image quality mode, category of video, motion vector detected from video, or the like set for the liquid crystal display device. |
