PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance zoom lens system that has a remarkably reduced overall length and hence a reduced size and still has good balance between a wide angle of view at a wide angle end and a high zooming ratio, and to provide an imaging apparatus and a camera.SOLUTION: The zoom lens system comprises a first lens group of positive power, a second lens group of negative power, a third lens group of positive power, and a fourth lens group of positive power, wherein in zooming, the first to the fourth lens groups are moved such that the air spaces between the individual lens groups vary, so that magnification changes, and wherein at least one of lens elements composing the second lens group satisfies conditions given below: 11.8<f/t<500.0; ω≥30; and f/f≥4.5. (tis the thickness of the center of the lens element composing the second lens group, ωis a half angle of view at the wide angle end, fand fare the focal distances of the entire system at a telephoto end and the wide angle end). The imaging apparatus and the camera are also provided. |
