PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the leak amount of NHwhen the excess feed ratio of NHis heightened in order to sufficiently remove NOx.SOLUTION: By sequentially passing an exhaust gas to which NHhas been fed through a front chamber 11, an intermediate chamber 12, a rear chamber 13 and an ammonia adsorption chamber 14 each packed with a carbonaceous adsorbent and packing the carbonaceous adsorbent on which much SOhas been adsorbed because of being packed into the front chamber 11 arranged most upstream into the ammonia adsorption chamber 14 arranged most downstream, excess NHwhich remains unconsumed in the course between the front chamber 11 and the ammonia adsorption chamber 14 when the feed ratio of NHis heightened in order to sufficiently remove NOx is consumed by reactions of forming acidic ammonium sulfate and ammonium sulfate in the ammonia adsorption chamber 14. |
