PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To register the lower end of a sheet bundle, and to prevent positional dislocation caused by backlash.SOLUTION: This sheet postprocessing device 10 has a second paper carrying passage 18, a sheet positioning member 25, a rack, a pinion gear, a bookbinding staple unit 23 and a control part 36. The sheet positioning member 25 freely moves along the second paper carrying passage 18, and temporarily stores a plurality of paper carried by the second paper carrying passage 18. The pinion gear meshes with the rack installed in the sheet positioning member 25. The bookbinding staple unit 23 performs processing on a paper bundle in a predetermined processing position along the second paper carrying passage 18. The control part 36 arranges a processing place of the paper bundle in the processing position from below after performing reciprocating operation by a plurality of times by the sheet positioning member 25 by rotating the pinion gear. |
