In a system performing communication using a plurality of antennas, suppose that slots (1, 2) from an antenna (1) and slots (3, 4) from an antenna (2) are transmitted while constituting a frame. The reception side checks, each slot whether it has an error. Assuming that an error exists in slots (1, 4), a message notifying existence of an error in the slots (1, 4) is transmitted from the reception side to the transmission side. The transmission side embeds, the slots (1, 4) in a frame consisting of two slots and retransmits the slots (1, 4) from the antennas (1, 2), respectively. Since a slot having an error is embedded into a slot having no error when retransmitted to the reception side, waste of slot is eliminated from a frame retransmitted, thereby enabling effective retransmission processing.
