PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel estimation method for an OFDM transceiver.SOLUTION: The OFDM transceiver processes a preamble of a received OFDM packet to derive channel state information (CSI) of a communication channel. The derived CSI can then be applied to generate a weighted OFDM packet to be transmitted on the communication channel. As a result, an improved effective communication channel is established between the OFDM transceiver and the other transceiver. The improved communication channel is used to expand a distance corresponding to a selected transmission bit rate and/or to expand a transmission bit rate between an AP and a CLT. Further or alternatively, the improved communication channel is used to reduce power consumption. |
