PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing agent for a battery having a high sealability than a conventional sealing agent between an insulation gasket mounted on an opening of a negative electrode metal container housing a power generation element and a metal container and/or between the insulation gasket and a seal, and moreover having safety with no leaking of an electrolyte solution.SOLUTION: The sealing agent for a battery contains an elastic polymer and an imidazole compound. Preferably, a content ratio of the imidazole compound is 0.5-20 pts.mass against the elastic polymer 100 pts.mass. In the battery, there is provided a layer formed between an insulation gasket mounted on an opening of the negative electrode metal container housing a power generation element and a metal container and/or the insulation gasket and the seal. |
