PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a solar cell for reliably preventing continuity between surface and back electrodes by an insulating groove while widely securing a photovoltaic region.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the solar cell includes a step of forming an n-type semiconductor layer 12 on the surface of a p-type silicon substrate 11, a step of forming the back electrode 14 on the back of the silicon substrate 11, a step of forming the surface electrode 15 on the surface of the n-type semiconductor layer 12, and a step of forming an insulating groove 16 for preventing continuity of the surface and back electrodes 15, 14 on a peripheral side of the silicon substrate 11. In this case, the insulating groove 16 is preferably formed by irradiation of laser beams LB. |
