PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely cool the whole power generation surface, appropriately secure the opening cross section of a coolant passage, and shorten the short side of a separator, in simple and economical constitution.SOLUTION: In a fuel cell 12 composing a fuel cell stack, an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly 20 is interposed between a first separator 22 and a second separator 24. The first and second separators 22, 24 are formed in a rectangle, a pair of coolant supply passage 30a and coolant discharge passage 30b is formed in each of both edge parts of the first and second separators 22, 24. The coolant supply passage 30a and the coolant discharge passage 30b have a rectangular opening part in the arrow C direction, a passage 38a is installed on the upside of the coolant supply passage 30a and a passage 38b is installed on the downside of the coolant discharge passage 30b. |
