PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a conventional DVD (Digital Versatile Disk) player to utilize added additional information such as PID.SOLUTION: Supplemental mark strings and pit strings are configured such that the additional added information recorded in the supplemental mark strings is recorded in the format of command information instructing that the additional added information is read by a normal DVD player. By employing the added additional information in the recording of information that playback devices can support, the added additional information can be used in current playback devices like so-called navigation commands in a DVD system.
