PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a disk array device (RAID) to recover important data, even in the event of the multiple failures of a physical disk by enhancing a protection level only for the important data without increasing physical disks.SOLUTION: A technique includes a logical drive (P) that can be restored up to the failure of one HDD, a logical drive (Q) that can be restored up to the failure of two HDDs, and a logical drive (R) that can be restored up to the failure of N-1 HDDs (N: number of HDDs forming the logical drive). The logical drive (P) is defined as a logical drive mainly accessed by the user. A file access monitoring service monitors all user files in the logical drive (P). The file of the logical drive (P) recently accessed is moved to the logical drive (Q). The file of the logical drive (P) designated by the user is moved to the logical drive (R). After the occurrence of failure of a plurality of HDDs, the files of the logical drive (Q) and the logical drive (R) are restored to the logical drive (P). |
