PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment apparatus using microorganisms without requiring a large, complicated structure, which improves the decomposition efficiency of organic matter by the microorganisms and, in particular, can suppress the amount of oils and fats flowing out to the environment.SOLUTION: A decomposition tank 5 for treating wastewater using microorganisms is divided by partition plates 7a and 7b, and air diffusing pipes for aeration 6a-6d are placed in respective divided compartments. The air diffusing pipe closer to an outlet 9 for treated water is placed at a higher position than the air diffusing pipe closer to an inlet for water to be treated to enhance the agitation effect by air discharged from the air diffusing pipes. Furthermore, a fluorescent lamp 10 is placed on the upper part of the decomposition tank 5 as a light source for enhancing the activity of the microorganisms, and the outlet 9 for the treated water is provided near the bottom of the decomposition tank 5 so that the floating oils and fats may not flow out of the decomposition tank 5 before they are decomposed. |
