PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor controller preventing a step-out while reducing an excess coil current and a method for controlling the rotation thereof.SOLUTION: The stepping motor controller 100 includes a motor efficiency determining means 81a changing a coil current value regarding one pulse frequency and determining the motor efficiency of a stepping motor, and a step-out presence decision means 81b deciding the presence of the step-out of the stepping motor. The stepping motor controller includes a table generating means 81 generating a table registering motor efficiency information and the presence or absence of the step-out while corresponding to pulse frequency information and coil current value information. The stepping motor controller further includes a selecting means 82 selecting the coil current value information having no step-out and having the highest motor efficiency from a table with respect to a plurality of pieces of coil current value information associated with the pulse frequency information on the basis of the rotational speed of the stepping motor. The stepping motor controller further includes a control information output means 83 outputting the coil current value information selected by the selecting means to a driver circuit. |
