PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of accurately controlling the ignition timing, in the control device of an internal combustion engine having a variable valve, by taking into consideration change influence of atmospheric pressure.SOLUTION: This control device of the internal combustion engine has a variable valve mechanism for varying at least one of an intake valve and an exhaust valve and a valve operation quantity detecting means, and has a filling efficiency arithmetic operation means 91 of inflow air into a cylinder based on a rotating speed, intake absolute pressure, atmospheric absolute pressure or exhaust absolute pressure and a valve operation quantity, an inside EGR quantity arithmetic operation means 92 for arithmetically operating an inside EGR quantity of the cylinder based on the rotating speed, the intake absolute pressure, the atmospheric absolute pressure or the exhaust absolute pressure and the valve operation quantity, and an ignition timing arithmetic operation means 95 for arithmetically operating the ignition timing based on at least the rotating speed, filling efficiency, the inside EGR quantity, the effective compression ratio arithmetically operated from the variable valve operation quantity and an anti-knocking index of fuel supplied in the cylinder. |
