<p>Provided is a configuration, wherein a virtual file system is built-up to enable playback processing, without using any local storage area. When conducting playback processing of data from media having multiple directories, with data that supports the BDMV standard recorded in BDMV directories, and data that does not support the BDMV standard, such as 1080/60P or 3D image data, recorded in BDAV or BU directories, playback processing is conducted without moving data to a local storage unit, by building-up a virtual file system, wherein virtual file names are configured for data recorded in the BDAV or BU directories. With this configuration, it will become possible to record and play back data that supports the BDMV standard, and data that do not support the BDMV standard, without moving data to a local storage unit.</p> |
