The invention refers to a hose particularly a flexible hose (10) for high pressure applications. The hose (10) contains an inner tube (12) for conveying the pressurized fluid. The exterior of the inner tube (12) is covered by a glass fiber webbing (21) for protecting the inner tube (12) and increasing the pressure resistance of the hose (10). A reinforcement layer (15) having a plurality of reinforcement plies (16) overlays the glass fiber webbing (21). An outer cover (13) covers the reinforcement layer (15). The glass fiber webbing (21) is manufactured preferably by wrapping a glass fiber ribbon (25) around the inner tube (12). Between the glass fiber webbing (21) and the reinforcement layer (15) is provided a chemically connected intermediate layer (11).
